Christmas Festival for Hadley Parish Church

Hadley’s Parish Church, Holy Trinity which is at Hadley Hollow, Hadley, is set to stage another fantastic Christmas Festival from 11.30am ‘til 3.30pm on Saturday 7th December. Entry is free.

Parish Priest Father Stuart Howes (PICTURED) said: “It’s a joint effort between Holy Trinity and Christ Church, Wellington, our sister parish.

“Last year was a wonderful event and we believe this year’s festival will be even bigger, with hot food, hot chocolate and mulled wine, plus some festive tasty treats to enjoy whilst people browse the stalls including a gift stall. Also, don’t forget the freshly baked cake stall, which was a big hit last year.”

Father Stuart went on to say: “There will be music from the Telford Community Ensemble under director Brandon Corfield, plus carols with Carrie. There’ll be festive games including a human fruit machine, a tombola, pin the tail on the donkey and much more festive fun besides. You’ll be able to get your free donkey keyring whilst stocks last.

“And there’ll be a chance to craft your own festive items to take home with you.”

This highly anticipated performance promises to deliver a spectacular evening of music, celebrating the iconic sounds of one of the UK's most influential pop duos.

The tribute band, renowned for their faithful renditions of the Pet Shop Boys' greatest hits, will transport the audience back to the electrifying era of the 1980s.

With meticulous attention to detail in both sound and visual presentation, the band recreates the magic of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe's legendary performances, ensuring a night that will be filled with nostalgia and top-tier entertainment. Knife attack in Wellington. Teen hospitalised

Wellington Police officers are investigating after an alleged knife attack in the market town.

A spokesman said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed on Bridge Road in Wellington, yesterday evening (Wednesday 6 March).

"The incident occurred at approximately 7.25pm when disorder between two groups of people resulted in a 16-year-old being stabbed.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and the two remain in police custody."

Detective Inspector Kevin Jones said:  "I’d like to thank the public for their co-operation and patience whilst we dealt with the incident. I would also like to reassure them that this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the public.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the attack, has any information about it or has CCTV, video doorbell or dash-cam footage of the attack itself, or the offenders before or afterwards, to please come forwards”.

Wanted man believed to be in town

A spokesman for West Mercia Police has issued an appeal to members of the public in Wellington, Shropshire: "Can you help us find Callum Doyle who is wanted on recall to prison?

The 25-year-old, who is from Telford, is wanted on recall to prison for breaching his license. Doyle is believed to be in Wellington.

"Anyone who knows his whereabouts, or sees Doyle, is asked to call 999 immediately."
