Police Seek Driver After Whitchurch Collision

Police are seeking the driver of a car which sped off after being involved in a collision at Whitchurch.

The car, a silver coloured old style Vauxhall Vectra, lost control on Heath Road, colliding with an oncoming vehicle

It failed to stop making off at speed. The driver of the other vehicle, a gold coloured Toyota Rav 4, was slightly injured when the airbag activated.

Police Constable Antony Jones, the investigating officer, said: "We are trying to trace the driver of the Vectra and any information which might assist can be forwarded to Whitchurch or Shrewsbury police stations on 0300 333 3000 or to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111."

He said the Vectra crossed onto the offside of Heath Road railway bridge at high speed and badly damaged the Toyota. It then drove off without stopping at high speed along the A49 towards Prees.

PC Jones added: "It's thought the Vectra has a spoiler and some sort of go-faster stripe on it."
